The first word I learned was "sajt." :) My boyfriend is Hungarian, and when he would do something sweet or romantic, I would say "syr." ("Syr" is the Slovak word for cheese as we were living in Slovakia at the time. It was a silly thing we did.) So I wanted to say it in Hungarian to make him laugh, so that was the first word I learned!

Szia Dung!

Thanks for the comment!

If you have the chance to study the language in Hungary, I'm sure even the suffixes will be fine!

You will certainly find many friends who will help you, they will really appreciate your efforts!

Hi Eva!

That just means your pronunciation was really good. Good job!

Csak egy kicsit beszélek magyarul.

You can also use:

A magyar nehéz.

"Hungarian is difficult."

People always love to hear their language is difficult.

Hi Jana!

Good thinking.

If you visit in summer, it is probably also useful to teach them to ask:

Hol van a fagyizó?

Can you figure it out?

Nem beszélek magyarul. I used it a lot the first time I went to Budapest. People were friendly and helped me out. But at first, they thought I was hungarian. Now if I get to go back, I'll use. Csak egy kicsit magyarul.
