Hey listeners! What was the first Hungarian phrase you learned? And which one of these were you the most surprised by? Let us know in Hungarian!
Szerintem nagyon jó ötlet, hogy szeretnél még jobban megtanulni magyarul! 👍❤️️
Elnézést! - "Édesapám", nem "Édespám".
Édespám magyar és magyarul beszélt bátyámmal és velem, amikor kicsi voltunk. Sajnos egy pillanatra abbahagyta és csak németül beszélt velünk. Abban az időben Németországban éltünk. Egy mondat, amelyet sokat hallottam az idő alatt: "Gyere ide!" Sok magyar gyermekdalt is emlékszem. Negyven évvel később tanulok, és édespám boldog. ❤️️
My father is Hungarian and spoke Hungarian to my older brother and me when we were little. Unfortunately, at some point he stopped doing it and only spoke German to us. We were living in Germany at that time. One sentence I've heard a lot during this time is: „Gyere ide!” ("Come here!") I also remember many Hungarian children's songs. Forty years later I’m learning Hungarian and my father is happy.
Hi Katherine Gleason,
Thank you for sharing! Let us know if you have any questions.
The first word I learned was "sajt." :) My boyfriend is Hungarian, and when he would do something sweet or romantic, I would say "syr." ("Syr" is the Slovak word for cheese as we were living in Slovakia at the time. It was a silly thing we did.) So I wanted to say it in Hungarian to make him laugh, so that was the first word I learned!
My grandmother used to say this all the time.
Thank you for your comment! ?
Good luck for learning Hungarian!
