Eric: Welcome to 3-Minute Hungarian Season 1, Lesson 10 - Asking How Much Something Costs. In this lesson, you’ll learn how to ask how much something costs in Hungarian.

Eric: Here's the way to ask 'How much does this cost?' in Hungarian.
Lena: [Normal] Ez mennyibe kerül?
Eric: First is a word meaning 'this'.
Lena: [Normal] ez [Slow] ez
Eric: Next is the word meaning 'how much'.
Lena: [Normal] mennyibe [Slow] mennyibe
Eric: Last is the word meaning 'cost'.
Lena: [Normal] kerül [Slow] kerül
Eric: Note the rising intonation. Listen again to the question meaning 'How much does this cost?'.

Eric: Here's the way to ask, 'How much does it cost?'.

Lena: When you go into a store, after a few minutes the shop assistant might ask you if you are looking for something in particular. If you aren’t, just answer Nem, köszönöm. which means “No, thank you.” When you need assistance, don't be afraid of asking for help.
