INTRODUCTION
Michael: In each lesson of this 25 part series, you'll master a common question for Hungarian learners, and then learn how to answer it like a native speaker. You'll learn how these key phrases work by breaking them down into each component. Then, through repetition and new vocabulary, you'll expand your understanding of the question, its answers, and any variations.

Michael: In this lesson, you'll learn how to respond to the common question Can you play musical instruments? In Hungarian this is
Lena: Tudsz hangszereken játszani?
Michael: The first word in the question is
Lena: Tudsz
Michael: meaning “can you,”
Lena: (Slow, by syllable) Tudsz
Michael: Listen again and repeat.
Lena: Tudsz

Michael: This pattern of first introducing a word at natural speed, providing the translation, breaking it down, and then giving it again at natural speed will be repeated throughout the series. Try to speak aloud as often as possible. The next word in the question is

Michael: meaning “instruments.”
Lena: (Slow, by syllable) hangszereken
Michael: Now repeat.

Michael: To say "no", in a simple way, just say:
Lena: Nem, nem tudok.
Michael: Which is like saying “No, I can’t”, in English. Let's hear it slowly.
Lena: (Slowly) Nem, nem tudok.
Michael: And one more time at normal speed:
Lena: Nem, nem tudok.
Michael: Now let's break down our original response from the beginning. The first word:
Lena: Igen
Michael: means “yes.”
Lena: (Slow, by syllable) Igen
Michael: Now repeat
Lena: Igen

Lena: tudok
Michael: meaning “I can”.
Lena: (Slow, by syllable) tudok
Michael: Now repeat.
