		Bár a korábban inkább iparra, mint idegenforgalomra támaszkodó várost sok magyar nem tartja kimondottam csábító úti célnak, mégis érdemes látogatást tenni a környékre a közeli fürdők és a tokaji borvidék miatt.
		Maga a város is tartogat kellemes meglepetéseket, a szolgáltató és vendéglátóipar sokat fejlődött a kilencvenes évek gazdasági visszaesése óta.
		Heves megye fővárosa Eger, az ország egyik legszebb kisvárosa.
		A barokk belváros turisták tízezreit csalja ide minden évben, csakúgy, mint a környező bortermelő vidék, a kiváló túraútvonalak és a termálfürdők.
		Egertől dél felé haladva már a Nagyalföld északi része található, itt többek között búza, napraforgó és dinnyetermesztésből élnek a helyiek.
		Nógrád megyét szintén rosszul érintette a kilencvenes években történt ipari leépülés, azonban a terület mára már kinőni látszik ezeket a nehézségeket.
		A környék természeti szépsége páratlan, erdős, hegyes területek váltják egymást.
		Ez itt a palócföld központja, a népcsoport a magyar sajátos változatát beszéli, konyhájuk, népviseletük szintén jól felismerhető.
		Az Észak-magyarországi régiót érdemes meglátogatni a helyi bor, a termálfürdők, és az erdős-hegyes túraútvonalak miatt.

		Eger, Miskolc, and the Northern Hungary region
		Northern Hungary is one of the largest regions in the country.
		The area has an incredible touristic appeal and great agricultural significance too.
		Officially three counties comprise the area called Northern Hungary - Borsod, Heves and Nógrád.
		The most important two cities are Eger and Miskolc.
		Most of the area is mountainous, both the highest mountain (Kékestető) and the mountain range with the highest average altitude (Bükk) are in this region.
		The undulating geography deserves to be mentioned not only because of sightseeing reasons, but also because of its aptitude for producing grapes.
		Several wine regions – including those of Eger and Tokaj – are situated here.
		The capital and the biggest city of the region is Miskolc.
		Though the city, which once relied heavily on its industrial output, is not considered to be an attractive tourist destination by many Hungarians, the area is still worthy of a visit because of the neighboring thermal baths and the wine region of Tokaj.
		The city itself can surprise the visitor, since the service and hospitality industry has improved a lot since the economic recession of the nineties.
		The capital of Heves county is Eger, one the most beautiful towns in the country.
		The baroque downtown attracts tens of thousands of tourists every year, just like the surrounding wine region, the great hiking trails and the thermal baths.
		Moving south, we enter the northern part of the Great Plain. The locals rely on growing wheat, sunflower and watermelon here.
		Nógrád county was also hit hard by the industrial decline of the nineties; it seems though, that the area has slowly risen from these hardships.
		The region has an unparalleled natural beauty - hills and forests alternate here.
		This is the homeland of the Palóc ethnic group, whose distinct variety of Hungarian is as recognizable as their cuisine and traditional clothing.
